Over the last four weeks, I have spent my time learning marketing styles and techniques. Marketing is a basic tool used in any business. I chose this module to study because I aim to write, publish, and sell a book in 2025. But how could I sell the book if no one knows about it? Throughout these four weeks, I learned about email marketing, social media marketing, landing pages, and why marketing is important. In the beginning, instead of focusing on my brand A Swirl of Words, I decided to focus on a small bakery in my city called Born2Bake Bakery. I think that focusing on a separate company from my brand helped me understand how to market something that I wasn’t involved in. Below, I’m going to highlight some of the projects that I completed throughout this module!

Landing Page!

I have never made a landing page before this project. I would say that it was fun and challenging. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what the customers enjoy and if I was the consumer what would make me want to order from Born2Bake. Although it is not perfect, I am super proud of this! If you want to see the full landing page, click on the image and it will take you directly there!

Social Media Marketing:

Instagram Stories

In this section of the module, my focus was on social media. One of my weaknesses is creating entertaining Instagram Story graphics that are inviting and informative. So, with that in mind, that is what I chose to center my attention on. I create 15 different Instagram Stories. I played around with fonts, colors, styles, and information about the business, and used pictures from their website and stock images. I enjoyed being creative and trying out new techniques. I created all of these on Canva, which is super easy for me! I want to incorporate what I learned into my bookstagram (@aswirlofwords).

Email Campaign

The final project I completed was my email campaign. The assignment was to write out five different welcome emails to new subscribers to a newsletter. I enjoyed writing these out. I played pretend like I was actually talking to multiple people. I used Chat GPT to give me a basic understanding of what some email campaigns look like and a basic template.

The template goes as follows:

Header

(highlight — use lots of adjectives and pique the customer’s interest with mouthwatering opportunities)

(offer/details — offer a discount code or give examples of an event)

(a “see you soon” type closing statement — show interest in seeing them at the bakery)

sign off

Thanks for enjoying my marketing projects! I hope to share more with you soon!
